The Bremerton Housing Authority has developed a maintenance roster of prequalified contractors to expedite response to small maintenance issues. Maintenance staff at BHA properties use the roster to notify vendors of small jobs that need to be done. The maintenance staff rotate through the list to ensure that all contractors have the opportunity to provide bids. When possible, multiple bids from approved contractors on the maintenance roster are obtained to ensure that the job is bid competitively. If there are not enough contractors listed in a category who are approved, maintenance staff will obtain bids from contractors who are not on the roster. If one of those contractors is awarded the work, the qualification process will be completed before work begins.
The maintenance roster is designed to improve the response time and efficiency of BHA's maintenance staff. There is no deadline for applying to be on the roster.
