Solicitations Posted by BHA

When a solicitation is not financially significant enough to attract national contractors, BHA will use vendor outreach to publicize solicitations. The solicitation will be posted on the BHA website, and BHA will determine the most effective method to advertise that solicitation. This may occur through formal print publications or through less formal methods of outreach.

  • Formal Print Publications – when procedurally required or when it is determined to be the most effective means of ensuring competition, BHA will advertise solicitations in formal print publications (newspapers, journals, other trade publications). The solicitation will indicate where the contractors will find the solicitation and how they can obtain the attachments. If the attachments are large and located on another website (e.g., the Builder’s Exchange), directions will be provided for finding and downloading those attachments.
  • Informal Outreach Methods – vendor lists will be obtained from various sources including the MRSC website, state agency approved/certified vendor lists, internet searches, previous contractors, and contractors that have expressed an interest in being notified for certain types of solicitation. The solicitation will be emailed to those vendors and will explain how the vendor can obtain the attachments for the solicitation. If the attachments are large and located on another website (e.g., the Builder’s Exchange), directions will be provided for finding and downloading those attachments.
