A Word from the Executive Director on the 2026 Federal Budget Proposal

Dear Residents, Voucher Participants, Landlords and Community Members,

We are aware of the proposed 2026 budget released by the President on May 2, 2025. Although the information is unsettling, it is a proposal. The budget will have to be approved by Congress and typically contains significant changes before it goes into effect by October 2025.

Most importantly, BHA is not making any changes at this time based on the proposed budget. If there are any plans or considerations for changes, we will ensure to communicate them with you as soon as possible.

BHA relies heavily on federal funding for many of our programs. We will continue to monitor development of the 2026 federal budget as updates become available. We will also continue to advocate for fully funding HUD.

We know that many households rely on the programs administered by BHA, and we care deeply for the people in need of these programs. We will continue to do our best in service to our community as we responsibly use the resources that we have. Please contact us through one of the options listed on our contact page if you have any further questions.
